u know a lot of it is what must be present in this Maldives.. and yeah!! we Maldivians lack the creativity and ideas.. sometimes.. well at most of the times... i guess..
ya know... a lot of the stuff there just isn't there because Male' is so small and therefore lacks market. like McD's and jimmy choo and starbucks and whatnot.
the other stuff, like english publishing companies arent there cox a) maldivian government tries to promote dhivehi speaking and b) a lot of the population don't have the english standard to create a market. :P
we DO have a carnival. it just sucks is all.. :P and we have an OCEAN, why settle for a measley river? :P ice skating in the tropics? come on... >.>
maldivian idol: people would object to the usage of the word 'idol' and make it political. :( skyscrapers arent there cox islands cant support them. langauge classes are there though. and caviar is expensive, in resorts and not so good for the fish it's taken from, no? and it's not that we dont have affordable holiday destinations. sucky economy means no money is all. :/
if i were to add to the list, i'd add this:
1) a factory that manufactures chemicals [like chlorine and bromine] from the sea.
2) an animation studio with loads of IT related jobs. [i hope to make one one day.. :3]
3) at least one, REAL fast food joint where you get your food in less than 5 mins just like in McD's or KFC or whatever. a coffeehouse which provides coffee and small snacks might not be that terrible an idea either... ^^
